Schools must meet certain environmental and social criteria in order to become EcoSchool certified and can additionally be recognized as bronze, silver, gold or platinum depending on the intensity of their eco-practices and initiatives. Schools interested in registering as an EcoSchool for the 2018-19 school year should visit the Ontario EcoSchools website.

This year, one school achieved bronze certification, ten schools achieved silver certification, and 27 schools achieved gold certification. YCDSB is also pleased to announce that 12 schools achieved platinum certification; a record for our Board!
